Introduction

For as long as I can remember, all I've ever wanted is to be a mummy. Growing up, I was always surrounded by my baby dolls. However, I am single and I am demisexual.

I always semi-jokingly said that if I didn't have a baby by the time I was 30, I would go down the sperm donor route. I'm 30 in July.

About 18 months ago I started to seriously consider this.

I have PCOS and very rarely get periods so I knew for me it wouldn't just be a case of buying some sperm and doing it at home. In October I went to my doctors to see what my options would be and I was referred to the gynecologist.

The letter finally came through on Wednesday 28th December to tell my my appointment is February 6th. This is the first step. This is where I discuss my options in detail. I know that I am going to have to pay for treatment. If I was a lesbian and had a partner, I would get funding on the NHS but single women don't funding.

I need to lose weight. I'm 14st 9lbs. My goal is to get to 10 stone in total but I want to lose 10lbs before my hospital appointment.
